Gift to Myself no.8 was painted in the second year of the pandemic (2021) as part of a series. They were my personal way of coping with the stresses involved with being the only family member leaving the house to go to work and mixing with a volume of people daily, before vaccinations started.
 
The idea of winding down looking at the effect of coloured background on flowers, themselves highly coloured, appealed, adding to the longevity in the flowers, painted from staged photos I took as the time to paint each 1 metre squared picture meant the blooms had altered before the completion of the art.
 
Painted in oil paint on a 1x1m square deep edge canvas and strung ready to hang. The photo of the canvas on the wall in a room is for context only, the painting is not framed.
 
Delivery is possible, within 100 miles of Salisbury, further afield would be based on multiple item purchases and timing.
